NEW FAIR USE LIMITS FOR COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL

Italian January 9th 2008 n. 2 Act, published in “Gazzetta Ufficiale” on the last January 25th, introduced new provisions regarding the S.I.A.E. (the Italian agency for authors and recording industry, just like BPI in UK and RIAA in USA) and modified section 70 of Italian Copyright Act, extending the fair use limits for copyrighted material. More specifically the new Act now allows to use through the Internet images, music and videos protected by copyright, but at a low quality and for educational and scientific purposes only.
